Randomness

I really have no topic today. So I am just going to ramble.

My Christmas went great, I ate way to much, and gained 5 pounds. I now have to schudal a date with my gym.Every year this happens, I should learn but I love food to much. Espically when that food is covered in cheese and goes by the name lasagna..... and don't even get me started on the chocolate.

I ordered books yesterday from the Chapters web site. They are way cheaper when you buy them on line as in ; Retail price $85.00-- Online price $62.00 with free shipping. The catch ...waiting for them to arrive . I don't want to wait I want them now!

Some two thousand years after he walked the earth, Jesus Christ is still a hot topic. And for all the ridiculous, twisted, Da Vinci Code-esque conspiracy theories and lies about Jesus that have permeated popular culture and even the academy over the years, the truth about his character, nature, and work has not changed. So what exactly is the truth about Jesus Christ?

That’s the question the authors of Vintage Jesus seek to answer by breaking it down into a number of sub-questions about Jesus, including Is Jesus the only God? Why did Jesus come to earth? Did Jesus rise from death? Why should we worship Jesus? and others. Nonbelievers and new Christians looking to sit down and delve into the topic of Jesus, asking the toughest, most confounding questions they can think of, will find solid, biblical answers presented in a relevant, accessible way.

Velvet Elvis

From the Publisher

We know there′s something more. We sense it‚ we feel it‚ and we want it. But how do we find it − a spirituality that stands up to the questions of an honest‚ searching mind?

God never changes‚ nor do the central truths of Christianity. But our understanding of those truths is in constant flux. Christians will always be exploring and discovering what it means to live in harmony with God and each other. Velvet Elvis offers original and refreshingly personal perspectives on what Christianity is really about.

These books were recomended on a site that I visit they look interesting. I hope they are good.

I should go for now. I'm sure I have dishes to wash and laundry to fold.

For Today...
Dear Lord,
I bring you my shortcomings... My discontentment.I have trouble being content with what I have. Instead of being happy that I have all of the blessings that have been given to me I compare myself with others and what I precieve to be their "better" life. I do understand that others have problems just the same and even worse then mine but I really have a struggle with accepting this.

I bring you my prayer... That everyone has a blessed Christmas and that people remember the reason for christmas is not to spend lots of money and go to malls getting angry therefore being mean to one another. The reason for christmas is to celebrate Jesus's birth and spend time being kind to one another.

You spoke to me... When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other.
Ecclesiastes 7:14 (New International Version)

For Today...
Dear Lord,
I bring you my shortcomings... Today I am especially bothered by my recurrent tendency to worry. I often worry about the silliest things instead of leaving them to you. Even things which are so silly that one shouldn't dwell on them. I once heard that to worry was to tell God he was not doing his job correct.

I bring you my worship and praise... For always being there for me and never leaving or forsaking me. I have strayed far but you were always there waiting with open arms.

I bring you my prayer... That I remember to be more thankful for things and to worry less. I also bring you my prayer that my blog will be of some benefit to you.

You spoke to me...
... and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5 (King James Version)

Thankfulness

I have been thinking about thankfulness lately, and not because it was just thanksgiving, in Canada that was the second Monday in October. I have deiced that I need to be more thankful in general.

I have a good life, a good job (for the most part), a good man, a home, and food on the table, transportation, clothing... the list just goes on. Yet I still am not thankful and happy for what I have.So I have decided that every day and especially on Tuesdays I am going to spend some time dwelling on what I am truly thankful for. Feel free to join in!

Thankful Tuesday

Today I am thankful for... today I am thankful for my savior and the fact that no matter how I strayed I could always come back. I am also thankful for the fact that I expect more from myself then Luke expects from me. I am hard on myself and I am glad that others are not as hard as me.

And finally I am thankful for my coffee break ...... which is now up, so I must say
"bye for now"
